[Not in the way that he'd hit someone like Potter or the Weasley, really. He's progressively growing faster and stronger, fists more or less flying and leg sweeping in to try and get her to buckle to her knees. It's not exactly precise and smooth like Sophie's taught him, but it's something to try and tire himself out, something to get her to rise and fight him back now that he's moved on to step two.]

[she's not letting him just have his way by any means. the fact that he's trying to make her surrender means she's resistant to doing so, and when his sweeps make her stagger she grabs his shirt, steadying herself enough to put her heel in the back of his knee, making him stagger in turn. then she does go on the defensive, letting him have control of the fight to see where he takes it.]

[He does stagger forward, nearly toppling them over before he's using a hand to try and bend her arm backwards to release his shirt. It's only when he's freed himself from her that he's back to throwing as many punches as he can, not even really paying attention to where he's aiming while trying to take her down.

Really, he should know it's pretty futile to try and knock out Sophie. But at the same time he's invested in the fight and he's invested and going down swinging. It's probably not going to last much longer though as he suddenly ducks, hoping to more or less headbutt her in the torso and knock her backwards while she was distracted with his hands and his feet.

And this plan will probably backfire in five, four, three...]

[the problem, as draco is about to discover, with trying to headbutt someone considerably shorter than onesself is that they can get lower than you. she lets him come, but she gets under him and suddenly all his momentum is carrying him over her shoulder to meet the mat. she's on him fast, trying to pin him.]

[That is the problem indeed as Draco discovers when he hits the ground hard, yelping suddenly as his face meets the mat and his teeth connect with his lip biting down hard enough to make it bleed, nose suddenly bleeding as well from where his face hit the ground at an odd angle.

This is why you don't try to turn and fall and swing all at once, Draco dear.

As soon as she's on him though, as soon as she's trying to pin him down, his fists continue swinging wildly and his leg moves to try and hook her around the hips to throw her off. Never mind the fact he's actually growling at her as he struggles to gain the upper hand.]

[she's not nearly as alarmed as she possibly should be by all this. when he tries to throw her off she doesn't fight it, concentrating instead on not letting him get anything like a hold on her. she rolls across the mat and into a crouch, waiting for his next move.]

[And he pays no mind either. Once upon a time he would have laid flat out on that mat and whined about how he was dying because of his bloody nice and chewed up lip. As it stands though Sophie should be somewhat proud of herself for what she's created, seeing how he's hauling himself up again and settling in a crouch to stare at her.

Drip. Drip. Drip.

He might be cheating, just a little, as he suddenly zooms across the mat like a rocket thanks to his flight, tackling into her and hoping to knock her out of that crouch again and onto her back to reverse the roles and pin her down instead.]

[if he had just leapt at her, she'd have managed to dodge. but with the flight she can't. her back hits the mat with a sound that should, by all rights, be satisfying.

but then she freezes, long enough for blood from his nose to fall on her face. her eyes go wide and unfocused with panic. she wasn't ready for that, hadn't prepared herself. sophie is the one who growls then, as she throws him off hard enough to make him skid on the mat, then leaps onto him, thighs squeezing his ribs.]

[He's satisfied for all of three seconds as he knocks her down, pinning her effectively for the briefest of moments before he finds his body suddenly flying through the air, skidding across the mat like a stone upon water before he finds himself under the weight of his opponent. He really ought to be a little more conscious of the pressure on his ribs seeing how he doesn't have much padding to protect them, but as it is he's not stopping to think as he hauls back to try and direct a hit to the face, bucking his body up to try and get his feet between them to kick her off. Being on his back really isn't good for his nose, seeing how he keeps swallowing blood and his lip keeps splitting wider as his face contorts with each movement Sophie makes.

The problem, they will both belatedly realize, is that you can't put two easily-panicked people in a room and not expect this to happen eventually. If he can't kick her off, at least he can attempt to jab at her head and her neck and her shoulders, trying to get her to back off and let go.]

[punching her in the face actually brings her back out of her panic. he gets her in the nose and she makes a little noise. it'll start bleeding in a moment. but she stops fighting, grabs draco by the wrists]

Draco. Stop.

[Oops. Sorry Sophie. He'll profusely apologize for that when he comes back to his senses but as it is her hand is just a little too close to his dark mark and he's wriggling under her wildly to try and get out of her grip, feet still kicking to get between them to attempt to push her off.]

[they can both apologize then. she just sort of stays there and takes the kicking. it hurts, quite a bit, but it's much safer than him pinning her again. after a moment she parses the bandage under her fingers. oh.

perhaps unfortunately, the only way she can think to make him stop is to release his marked arm in favor of flipping him onto his stomach, twisting his other arm up behind his back to keep him down.]

Draco. Stop. I'm Sophie, you know I won't hurt you. I can't let you pin me again, though. One of us needs to be thinking a little.

[she doesn't think he can understand, she's talking for the sound of her voice]

[Again his face slams into the mat as Sophie flips him over and he cries out as she grabs his arm and weighs him down.

He only attempts to feebly get out of her grasp for a few moments before he allows himself to go limp beneath her and admit defeat. It's not really the fact that he doesn't know where he is or who Sophie is, but rather there's a disconnect between his brain, his body, his memories, and his goals.

It's kind of a mess, really.

He makes absolutely no moves beyond a very feeble attempt to strike with a punch and finding he can't go anywhere even if he tries. All right Sophie. You win.]

[this time, sophie winces audibly, sucking in a breath through her teeth, when he cries out. but she doesn't let up her weight until he stops struggling.

then she's all gentleness, helping him sit up, smoothing his hair. there's a trickle of ichorous black leaking from her nose and down her cheek where she obviously had her head turned. where it's spread out on her cheek, there's faint threads of color in it, one red and one gold.]

I'm sorry, I didn't mean to throw you like that.

[As soon as she helps him sit up she'll find that his eyes are still wide, and he's still panting to try and calm himself down again, adrenaline leaving just as quickly as it came. He's busy staring at her face, oddly fascinated and mildly disturbed by the multicolored blood on her while ignoring his own crimson cascade leaking out of his nose and his lip. He doesn't say anything, just swallowing roughly and blinking a few times to try and clear his head.

What the fuck just happened.]

[other than breathing harder from exertion, sophie seems calm, meeting his gaze. she reaches into the pocket of her pants and pulls out a black handkerchief, which she then uses to carefully clean the blood from his chin before holding it under his nose. her own blood gets wiped on the hem of her equally black tanktop, because she's classy like that. for a moment, he can see her stomach. there are a few blotches on her skin--she'll probably bruise a bit from the kicking, but nothing about her posture indicates physical discomfort. once she's mopped up her own face, she just leans in and pulls him into a hug. it's gentle, but not very optional]

All right, what was that about?

[He tries not to flinch away as she wipes blood off of his face, using a hand to reach up and pinch his nose together to stem the bloodflow. If he wasn't as shellshocked as he seems to be, he'd make a comment regarding her choice of cleaning herself off, but as it stands he's again a little disturbed when he sees the markings on her skin. Obviously he caused them. Obviously, again, he had caused problems.

Fantastic, Draco.

He's immediately squirming at that hug, trying to break free before realizing that he actually doesn't get a choice. He's still not talking though, leaning around her to cough up some of the blood he'd swallowed and continuing to hold his nose together. Nope. Nothing. Why would you ask such a silly thing? The fact that he's giving her a look of faux innocence should be enough to get across that exact sentence.]

[she caught that, draco]

Oh, for goodness sake. Yes, my blood is weird, no, I don't care if I bruise, you silly boy. That was my fault anyway.

[her tone gentles, and she pushes the handkerchief into his hand so that he can hold his nose and have somewhere for all the blood to go]

And I'll sit here all night if I have to wait that long.

[He takes that handkerchief, lifting an eyebrow at her as he pushes it under his nose to stop the bleeding. He's also giving her a rather testing look. Really, Sophie? Really? You want to wait that long?]

[she raises one right back, a mirror image]

If I have to. I might be a bit put out, but there are worse things.

[in fairness, she's pretty sure that draco will care about being stiff and cold and uncomfortable before she will. and they both know that he told her where he was because he wanted her there]

[He rolls his eyes, sitting back to lean on his free hand and just stare at the ceiling while he's monitoring the nosebleed. She's right, he will care first and he did want her there.

But he's being stubborn as hell even if she's trying to console him. So he's just staring at her without saying a word.]

[two can playing the staring game, though. her own nosebleed is almost stopped, and she just lets it run until it almost hits her lip before she dabs the black away. there's no evidence of anger or even annoyance in her expression. she's just waiting.

the only sign that she's not completely implacable is the fact that her fingers are playing with the fabric of whatever piece of his clothing is the closest to her]

[It's a good five minutes of silence where he's got the handkerchief to his nose and he's staring at her, thinking. He's ignoring the way she's playing with the bottom of his shirt, ignoring the way she's just staring into his soul for the time being.

Pulling away the handkerchief he uses his free hand to start idly examining his ribs, wincing when he finds a few places that are surely going to be bruised.]

...what was the question?

[the side of her mouth quirks down when he winces, but she doesn't move. he's a little roughed up, but it's still nothing compared to what she'd done to herself. that didn't mean jade wouldn't have a few things to say about it, though]

What is all this really about?

I told you. Wanted to get in the extra practice. [He's running his tongue over his lower lip, wincing at the split. That's a little deeper than he wanted.]
