I don't really understand jealousy very well. But Jade seems to. She's jealous of girls you love, because you loved them first.

But that's not my fault! I've known Pans since I was about four or five. How is it my fault I decided to try dating her when we were twelve? Yes, I dated her for almost four years, and yes I may have loved Pansy at some point, but that's the point. At some point. Same with Rapunzel. It's all in the past so why is she upset?

I am really quite awful at normal life, actually. We muddle through and we talk a lot and I tell him things because then he's not worried that I might not stay because really, Draco, we are both afraid all the time that this is just going to disappear because we don't get to have good things.

I don't think that's normal.

Jade's always harping on me about not having time to be mad at each other all of the time because Asgard could kick one or both of us out immediately. [I.E. he thinks he understands.]

Prioritize, I suppose. Talk carefully, in small pieces. One story at a time. It will probably be easier on both of you if you aren't bursting floodgates every time you have a conversation.

Not exactly like this, no. But you work up to things and spend a lot of time meandering around before whatever you meant to say rolls in like a tidal wave, sometimes. [she smiles against his hair] I'll tell you if you overload me, Draco. I will just put my hand over your mouth like this [and it is a neat trick that she puts her hand over his mouth for a moment without looking and while totally avoiding the split in his lip] and we will call it good for the moment.
